Imagine being told a story about everything at once. It sounds silly and unconvincing to have any slight success. Yet, it's what Sony tried implementing. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse manages to tell you the story of everything without telling you anything in almost 2 hours, and still, most people liked it...

Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is the Spider-Man of his universe, though thinking he is simply a random kid at his school with parents he gets bothered by. Being the least experienced of the group of alternate dimension "Spider-Man"s (or woman/pig), he is now confronted with the task of saving not only his, but what could be also be a threat for all other dimensions too.

Any Spidey lover would easily be able to tell you that the magic of Spider-Man is not his physical and heroic characteristics, but his moral and emotional fragility as Peter Parker. When interested in the physical powers of the superhero, better representatives can come in the form of Superman or Thor. The point that movie completely misses is that the reason Spider-Man is Spider-Man is necessarily because he has gone throw many experiences as Peter and as his newly acquired powers, which takes time and effort for him to gain control over. However, none of that is taken into consideration as the "beginner" Spider-Man is the one that surpasses all the other. The excessively flashiness is very disturbing to try to grasp what's going on at the cost of having a Scott Pilgrim vs. the World comic-like representation on the TV screen. The way is contradicts with itself though is being overly loyal to that format to the point it's irritating at many times and simply barely applying at others. The character subtleties were ignored, not to mention 3 of them were almost useless with very short screen time, as their backstory was simply thrown in our face in a tiring and obnoxious way, very similar to Suicide Squad.

Save for the occasions that the art is thoroughly thought of and the diversity of cast is incentivized, the movie is unwatchable, deserving full 4.0 stones out of 10.
